Shivers down your spine, goosebumps, tears in your eyes and a huge smile on your face – if you are like the vast majority of brides to be, this is most likely how you imagine your wedding ceremony. But even more than that, you imagine it to be really unique and full of your own personality. You want it to be touched by your amazing love story and you want it to be unforgettable from all points of view.

How to do that and make sure everything is modern, refreshing and original? We have gathered some tips for you – so read on to inspire yourself.

Walk alone. There’s nobody who should say that you absolutely must be walked down the aisle by your father (or by any other paternal figure in your family). If you want to walk down the aisle alone, do it (as long as it makes you happy, of course).

  • Walk with both of your parents. Likewise, you can walk with both of your parents as well. In some cultures, this is the traditional way to walk down the aisle – but that doesn’t mean that you cannot “borrow” the custom for your own wedding.
  • Walk with your future spouse. There’s nothing to stop you from walking down the aisle together with your future spouse either. In fact, this can be a really romantic moment. And if you want to make it even more special, you can choose to walk down the aisle together as well (for example, one of you could walk from one side, while the other walks from the other side).
